A school bus crash in Rayong on the first day of school left 23 students injured after the driver lost consciousness, with the bus rolling 100 meters before stopping.

RAYONG, Thailand – A tragic accident occurred on the first day of school in Rayong when a school bus carrying 23 students collided with an employee shuttle bus. The driver of the school bus, a 60-year-old woman, lost consciousness immediately after the impact, causing the bus to roll about 100 meters before stopping against a trash bin. Despite efforts to revive her with CPR, she later died.

All students aboard were injured, some seriously, with one child found unconscious in the street. Parents rushed to the scene in shock, while local residents noted that the trash bin helped stop the bus from potentially falling into a nearby canal. The shuttle bus driver, aged 59, said the school bus unexpectedly cut in front of him, leaving him no time to brake and resulting in a collision on the driver’s side. (TNA)
