PM Anutin leads key police commission meeting, sets tone for senior appointments and force management

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the first Police Commission meeting of Fiscal Year 2025 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, reviewing senior appointments and directing continued coordination to strengthen national police administration.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired the first meeting of the Police Commission for the fiscal year 2025 on Wednesday (Oct 22) at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, overseeing deliberations on senior police appointments and administrative matters within the national force. The Premier was welcomed by Pol Gen Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, before presiding over the ceremonial salute and inspecting the guard of honor.

The meeting was attended by 16 commission members, including senior police officials. Some members, including Deputy Commissioner-General Pol Gen Thana Chuwong, were absent due to official leave, while Pol Gen Ek Angsananont, serving as an independent expert member, participated remotely via video conference.


The session primarily addressed administrative and procedural matters related to the Royal Thai Police. The agenda also included consideration of six out-of-cycle appointments, ranging from Pol Maj Gen to Pol Lt Gen, to fill vacancies resulting from early retirements.

The meeting concluded with directives for continued administrative coordination within the police force to ensure seamless leadership transitions and efficient management of police operations nationwide. (NNT)
