The project will expand sidewalks, improve bus stops, enhance pedestrian access, and connect key hospitals, aiming to streamline travel and boost public transport use.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has approved a development project for the Victory Monument area—the biggest improvement in two decades—to overhaul the monument’s landscape and bus stop system.

The plan includes expanding sidewalks, enabling commuters to connect seamlessly with other means of transportation, increasing pedestrian crossings, planting more trees, creating more public spaces, extending bridges connecting the four islands around the monument, improving the system for bus stop management, and expanding the skywalk to access the eight major hospitals along the route.

The project is expected to streamline daily travel, encourage the use of public transportation instead of personal cars, and ensure accessibility for all. (PRD)
