BANGKOK, Thailand – The government is preparing to launch the Half-Half Plus co-payment scheme, with registration set for October and spending available in November and December 2025. Prime Minister’s Office Minister Paradorn Prissananantakul stated that the program will draw from more than 60 billion baht in the fiscal year 2025 and 2026 budgets, extending benefits to millions of citizens nationwide.
The scheme covers individuals aged 16 and over, divided into three groups. About 13 million State Welfare Cardholders will receive an additional 1,700 baht, bringing their allowance to 2,000 baht over two months. Around 9 million people outside the tax system will receive 2,000 baht through a 50:50 co-payment model, while 11 million taxpayers will receive 2,400 baht under the same structure. For both co-payment groups, daily spending is capped at 200 baht.
Funding includes 20 billion baht from the 2025 central emergency budget, 22 billion baht for initial transfers to Welfare Cardholders, and another 25 billion baht from the 2026 budget. The program is set to help ease living costs and stimulate household liquidity during the final months of the year.
Citizens can register through the official website, www.คนละครึ่ง.com (to be launched soon), or via the “Pao Tang” mobile app. After entering personal details and verifying their identity, users can link benefits to G-Wallet and top up funds through mobile banking, PromptPay, or ATMs. Spending will be processed by scanning the merchant’s QR code within the app.
The Pao Tang app is available for both Android and iOS devices. Identity verification can be completed via the Krungthai NEXT app or through facial recognition. Once verified, users will see their G-Wallet card activated, allowing them to immediately enjoy the benefit throughout November and December. (NNT)
