PATTAYA, Thailand – On the afternoon of September 19, visitors and local residents at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya observed an unusual darkening of the seawater, prompting curiosity and caution among beachgoers.

During a site visit, reporters noted that the normally clear water had taken on a darker hue. Some tourists, like Wichai, expressed surprise but remained cautious. “We usually bring our family here to swim and relax, but today the water looks different, so we decided not to go in,” he said.

Local authorities and community leaders are monitoring the situation. Nikom Saengkaew, a Pattaya city council member, has been informed and is coordinating an investigation to determine the cause. Officials suspect the unusual water color may be a temporary result of monsoon-related disturbances and are taking steps to ensure the beach remains safe and welcoming for visitors.

While the phenomenon has drawn attention, officials stress that Jomtien Beach remains a popular and safe destination. The city is committed to maintaining its beaches and marine environment, ensuring that both locals and tourists can continue to enjoy Pattaya’s coastline with confidence.
