PATTAYA, Thailand – Tourists planning to explore Pattaya this September, particularly those riding motorcycles or using local baht-buses, are being advised to monitor weather conditions closely. A tropical depression over the Philippines has moved into the northern South China Sea, shifting the monsoon trough over northern and central Thailand and bringing heavy rainfall to several regions.

The Meteorological Department forecasts scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Pattaya. Winds vary between 10–35 km/h, and coastal areas may experience waves of 1–2 meters, increasing during storms.

Motorcycle riders and baht-bus passengers should plan trips carefully, watch for sudden downpours, and be prepared for slippery roads and possible localized flooding. Local authorities recommend carrying rain gear and checking real-time weather updates before heading out.

“September showers can be intense and unpredictable along the eastern seaboard,” said a Tourism Authority official. “Tourists should stay weather-aware, especially when traveling on motorcycles or local baht-buses, to ensure safety.”

Visitors to Pattaya in September should check the latest weather forecasts before traveling. Motorcycle riders are advised to wear waterproof gear and helmets, while baht-bus users should allow extra travel time during heavy rain. It’s also important to protect valuables and electronics from the rain and stay alert for flooding on low-lying streets.

Despite the rainy conditions, with proper precautions, tourists can still enjoy Pattaya’s beaches, food, and nightlife safely.
