Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the Second Army Area, says opening the border will be considered only after troop deployments and ongoing operations, including landmine activity, are resolved.

BANGKOK, Thailand – “Opening the border is the last option, only after discussions on troop deployments and armed operational conflicts have been resolved.

The Second Army Region will consider it on a case-by-case basis. Right now, the situation remains somewhat tense. Negotiations have not yet been settled, and various operations are still ongoing, including the laying of landmines. Recommendations will be submitted to the government on a case-by-case basis.”
