BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has delivered the keynote address at the Ministry of Public Health’s 2025 Annual Academic Conference, presenting his vision for sustainable healthcare. He reflected on nearly seven years of working alongside ministry staff, acknowledging the difficulties faced but crediting their cooperation with strengthening Thailand’s health system and earning global recognition.

Anutin noted that Thailand’s public health structure remains one of the world’s most effective, with resilience proven during past crises. Beyond doctors and nurses, village health volunteers continue to play a crucial role by supporting care at the community level and linking households to the national health system.

Discussing his vision, Anutin stated that the new leadership at the Ministry of Public Health will accelerate efforts to improve the quality of life, reduce dependency on external care, and empower citizens to take greater responsibility for their well-being.

The Prime Minister noted that reforms must yield tangible results, ensuring that services and resources are delivered directly to people. Stronger systems, he added, will improve everyday care and prepare Thailand to meet future challenges.

The Premier expressed confidence that continued collaboration across all levels of the health sector will allow Thailand’s system to grow more efficiently, resiliently, and sustainably in the years to come. (NNT)
