Muaythai Glory unfolds in Pattaya as Zone 3 semi-finals ignite fierce battles

The “Authentic Muaythai” Zone 3 semifinals bring over 300 fighters to Pattaya, celebrating Thailand’s boxing heritage while energizing local tourism and culture.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The semifinals of the “Authentic Muaythai: From Grassroots to Global” competition for Zone 3 kicked off at the temporary boxing ring at the Blue Multipurpose Area, Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya, covering central, eastern, and western Thailand.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Chonburi Deputy Governor Pongsathit Pijanan, with Pattaya Deputy Mayor Kritsna Boonsawat welcoming distinguished guests. Representatives from various organizations also attended the event.



Organized by the Professional Muaythai Association of Thailand, the Sports Authority of Thailand, Top Kings Boxing Co., Ltd., and the Chonburi Sports Office, the tournament runs from September 4–30. The event aims to preserve Thailand’s Muaythai heritage, provide career opportunities for youth, strengthen community engagement, and elevate Muaythai as a cultural soft power in sports and tourism.

Over 300 fighters from 16 camps nationwide are competing in 16 bouts daily across five men’s weight categories and one women’s division. Winners will advance to the national finals.

The event has drawn large crowds of both Thai and international spectators, creating a vibrant atmosphere and boosting the local economy through tourism and cultural promotion.

Deputy Governor Pongsathit Pijanan and Deputy Mayor Kritsna Boonsawat lead the opening of the event, highlighting the city’s support for cultural sports and youth development.
