BANGKOK, Thailand – This September 14, Bangkok’s historic Golden Mount community comes alive with “Golden Mount Swing 2025”, a vibrant festival blending Thai and Western culture through music, dance, and a vintage market. Visitors can enjoy jazz performances fused with Mor Lam rhythms, watch swing dance merge with Thai folk dance, and explore local products, fashion, lifestyle items, and traditional Thai food and drink.

Organized by The Hop Bangkok—Thailand’s first swing jazz dance studio—in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and private partners, the event aim to boost tourism in the Golden Mount area while promoting cultural creativity, community engagement, and local economic growth.

The festival’s highlight is The STRUMBLRS, a Thai jazz band inspired by the 1930s. They perform classics such as Fly Me to the Moon, Tea for Two, and Take the A Train, blending jazz instruments with Thai musical elements and improvisation to create a fresh, accessible sound for audiences of all ages.

In addition to performances, the festival offers participatory dance sessions, including collaborations with a Ram Wong troupe from Phetchaburi, allowing visitors to try the dances themself. This hands-on approach adds fun while encouraging spending in the vintage market and supporting the local economy.

Held at Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawihan (Golden Mount), a historic landmark at the heart of the community, the festival attracts both Thai and international visitors, fostering cultural appreciation while stimulating experience-based, grassroots tourism. (PRD)
