BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister-Designate Anutin Charnvirakul thanked lawmakers for his approval as Thailand’s 32nd prime minister and emphasized the need to move quickly to address the country’s pressing issues and make up for lost opportunities.

Speaking after attending the parliamentary vote, Anutin said he first visited his ailing father, Chavarat Charnvirakul, at the hospital, describing it as the first thing he wanted to do. He confirmed that the cabinet team has been formed, adding that while details are not yet public, preparations are complete and will be announced soon. “I’m okay, and the coalition partners must be okay too,” he said when asked about coalition approval.


When asked whether his parliamentary support would affect ministerial appointments, Anutin declined to comment, emphasizing his preference to avoid conflicts.
