Pattaya Police Chief Anek unveils ambitious plan for modern station, enhanced facilities, and improved officer housing.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Police Chief Pol. Col. Anek Srathongyu has unveiled a visionary plan to construct a new, modern police station in Pattaya, complete with on-site housing for officers, aiming to improve both public services and the quality of life for law enforcement personnel.

Pol. Col. Anek explained that when he first assumed his position over 10 years ago, he observed that the existing station and officer accommodations were outdated and in poor condition. This inspired him to conceive a project to upgrade the facilities, making them more modern and convenient for both officers and the public, including tourists who often visit Pattaya. The plan emphasizes improvements in parking, office space, and residential areas for police staff.

The initial concept has been presented to senior authorities, who recommended a more detailed study and design. Following this guidance, Pol. Col. Anek has been working with civil engineers and experts to assess the site, examine relevant legal regulations, and consider building height restrictions to maximize the use of space efficiently.

The project is planned in two phases:

Phase 1: Construction of a 4-story police station, approximately 14 meters tall, with a budget exceeding 70 million baht.

Phase 2: Construction of a residential building for police officers, approximately 24 stories high, with a budget over 700 million baht.

If approved, the new facilities would provide modern working spaces for officers, suitable on-site housing, and adequate parking for both staff and visitors. The plan is expected to receive budget approval in 2026, with construction of the station itself beginning in 2028. The residential and parking buildings would follow from 2029 to 2030.

Pol. Col. Anek emphasized that the initiative reflects a long-term commitment to modernizing Pattaya’s police infrastructure, enhancing public service efficiency, and improving the well-being of officers who dedicate their lives to ensuring safety in the city.
