Erik Shaw encourages PCEC audience participation as he begins his interesting and informative on Business Archeology.

PATTAYA, Thailand – On August 27, 2025, Erik Shaw gave thought-provoking presentation to the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) titled “Business Archaeology.” The talk focused on connecting experience and knowledge, exploring the experience in the room, time traveling, and looking back to the future. He shared his theory that the fundamental skill sets required for his job in project management and digital marketing are possessed by the participants, regardless of their backgrounds.


Erik’s presentation began with an exploration of the concept of “Business Archaeology,” where he encouraged participants to connect their past experiences with their current knowledge. He invited the audience to share instances where they had to adapt their approaches, recall projects that faced delays, and discuss breakthroughs in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences. This interactive session not only engaged the participants but also highlighted the universal nature of problem-solving and team coordination skills.

A significant portion of the presentation was dedicated to the historical evolution of communication methods and the impact of technology on business practices. Erik emphasized the role of artificial intelligence (AI) as a powerful tool for problem-solving and brainstorming. He demonstrated the use of AI, specifically ChatGPT, to generate ideas and assist with various tasks. Erik stressed the importance of using AI as a smart assistant and being specific with prompts to achieve the best results.


The session concluded with a lively discussion on the potential impact of AI on society. Erik addressed concerns about job displacement and the ethical use of AI, prompting participants to share their thoughts on the future of AI and its role in various aspects of life.
