
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bank of Thailand (BOT) will introduce new 50- and 100-baht polymer banknotes into circulation nationwide starting 21 November 2025.
More Durable & Eco-Friendly
Made from polymer, the notes are resistant to moisture and dirt, lasting up to four times longer than paper notes.
Expected to reduce the need for 350 million replacement notes annually, cutting costs and environmental impact.

Transparent window with embossed numerals
Color-shifting ink that changes when tilted
Harder to counterfeit while keeping the familiar design
Accessible for All
Tactile Braille symbols to indicate denominations
Raised diagonal lines on both edges for the visually impaired
Both new polymer and existing paper notes will remain legal tender. Withdrawals will be available through commercial banks and ATMs nationwide. (PRD)
