TAT’s new eco-trail invites travelers to explore nature, support local communities, and experience sustainable tourism with digital tools for easy bookings and real-time guidance.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the “Lung Detox X Eco Trail,” a new eco-tourism route connecting Ban Tha Maprang–Khlong Phlo Community with the TAT Eco Park, offering nature-based experiences while promoting low-carbon travel across more than 140 rai of preserved forest.

Part of TAT’s national campaign, “5 MUST DO IN THAILAND,” the trail encourages travelers to engage with local landscapes, participate in conservation efforts, and experience rural life in a way that supports both the environment and community well-being. The initiative promotes a simpler, more conscious form of tourism that benefits both visitors and locals.

To enhance the experience, new digital tools have been introduced. A centralized platform simplifies community package bookings, while an AI-powered chatbot provides real-time assistance and travel information. These features, developed in collaboration with startup groups, makes sustainable tourism more accessible and appealing.

The pilot activity welcomed tourism professionals, media, influencers, and local organizations, who explored the route and its potential to support long-term income for nearby communities. The experience underscored how eco-tourism can create value without compromising natural or cultural integrity.

TAT describes the “Lung Detox X Eco Trail” as a model for future tourism development in Thailand, calling it a path forward that supports conservation, stimulates local economies, and creates more meaningful connections between visitors and the places they discover. (NNT)
