PATTAYA, Thailand – Tropical Storm Kajiki is expected to bring only strong winds and scattered showers to Pattaya, where temperatures will range from 26–33°C, while heavier rain and storm conditions are forecast for northern and northeastern provinces, as well as parts of the west coast of southern Thailand.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department, Kajiki has weakened into a depression and a strong low-pressure system as it moves over northern Thailand, with its center near Nan province expected this evening. The storm, combined with the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and Thailand’s mainland, has prompted warnings for residents in Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Trat, and Ranong, where heavy rain, strong winds, and flash flooding may occur, particularly in low-lying and riverside areas.

For Pattaya and the eastern seaboard, residents should expect gusty winds and scattered rain, though the city is unlikely to face severe flooding. Mariners are advised to exercise caution in the upper Andaman Sea and northern Gulf of Thailand, where waves may reach 2–3 meters, rising higher in areas of thunderstorms. Small vessels are advised to remain in port during the storm period.

In Bangkok and the surrounding areas, thunderstorms are expected in about 70% of the region, with temperatures ranging from 25–26°C in the early morning to 31–33°C at the highest.

While northern Thailand braces for heavy rainfall and strong winds, Pattaya residents and visitors can expect relatively mild weather impacts, with the main concerns limited to wind gusts and occasional showers.
