The Thai Army is investigating the death of Private Pityut Soda at Ta Muen Thom Temple and providing full support to his family.

SURIN, Thailand — The Royal Thai Army is investigating the death of Private Pityut Soda, a 20-year-old conscript, found deceased on August 23 at a restroom near Ta Muen Thom Temple, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, along the Thai–Cambodian border.



Private Soda served in the 21st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Special Task Unit, in the position of rifleman. Initial investigations indicate he had no pre-existing medical conditions, no history of drug use, no signs of stress, and no evidence of altercation or injury. Authorities are awaiting a full autopsy report from local police to determine the exact cause of death.

The Thai Army expressed deep condolences to Private Soda’s family and reaffirmed its commitment to providing full support and benefits. Officials also honored his service and dedication in protecting Thailand’s border. (TNA)
