
BANGKOK, Thailand – The 2nd Army Region has expressed appreciation to Thai educational institutions that are offering scholarships to support the children and spouses of soldiers, Border Patrol Police, and civilians who lost their lives defending Thai sovereignty along the Thai–Cambodian border. These scholarships help relieve the long-term educational burden on affected families and help them rebuild through continued access to education.
Chulalongkorn University is providing full scholarships through graduation for children and spouses of those who died in the conflict. Mahasarakham University is offering scholarships across all levels, from primary and secondary education to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, covering children and spouses of deceased soldiers and Border Patrol officers, as well as injured commanding officers.
The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) is awarding master’s degree scholarships in international relations and related fields to the children and spouses of fallen personnel and those disabled as a result of the incident. In Nakhon Ratchasima, Vongchavalitkul Educational Institutions are offering scholarships from the primary level through to bachelor’s degrees for children of deceased military personnel.
These efforts by the academic sector provide vital educational support for families affected by the border conflict and recognize the sacrifices made in defense of the nation. (NNT)
