BANGKOK, Thailand – ICONSIAM is hosting the “Spirit of Mountains and Seas · Yuyuan Lantern Festival and 2025 China–Thailand Culture Month,” in partnership with Shanghai Yuyuan Tourist Mart Group Co., Ltd. and Intersteps. This is the event’s first-ever appearance of the internationally acclaimed Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Thailand, commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China.
Set along the Chao Phraya River at ICONSIAM’s River Park, the festival features an elaborate lantern exhibition inspired by Shan Hai Jing (The Classic of Mountains and Seas), a collection of ancient Chinese mythology. Through modern lantern art, immersive light displays, and interactive storytelling, mythical creatures and fantastical landscapes are brought to life, blending traditional Chinese themes with the charm of Bangkok’s riverside.
Visitors can also enjoy traditional performances, illuminated art installations, weekly cultural showcases, and a curated market offering local Thai and Chinese products.
The festival, serving as a creative platform for artistic and cultural exchange between the two nations, runs daily from now until August 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. General admission is free, with entry to a special viewing area priced at 200 baht.
