BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister’s Office Minister Jiraporn Sindhuprai officially assumed the role of Acting Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation on June 24, following a Cabinet directive earlier the same day. Shortly after her appointment, she convened an executive meeting at Government House with Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, and senior officials to discuss measures ensuring operational continuity and alignment with the government’s agenda.
The talks provided Minister Jiraporn with a detailed briefing on the ministry’s structure, national policy direction, and key outcomes from the 2025 fiscal year. She was also updated on several major projects scheduled to continue into 2026, including programs in academic development, research, and technology developed to strengthen Thailand’s global standing.
Jiraporn expressed her readiness to carry out her responsibilities and stressed the importance of steady progress across all departments. The session allowed all parties to review plans for keeping existing programs on track, supporting the ministry’s role in advancing education, scientific research, and innovation as drivers of national development.
Later this week, Jiraporn is scheduled to visit the ministry to meet with staff and observe daily operations. The visit is expected to give her a closer look at current workflows and help address any immediate needs during the leadership transition. (NNT)
