Young Thai talent sought for royal Khon performance of Ramayana – The Story of Satya Palee

The SUPPORT Foundation invites Thai youths aged 15–25 to audition for the 2025 royal Khon performance, with final selections set for July. Auditions take place June 28–29 in Nakhon Pathom.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The SUPPORT Foundation, under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, has launched a nationwide search for young Thai talent to audition for the royal Khon performance of “Ramayana: The Story of Satya Palee.” The production is scheduled to take place from November to December 2025 at the Thailand Cultural Center in Bangkok.



Applications are open until June 13 for Thai nationals aged 15 to 25 with skills in Thai classical dance or Khon performance. Eligible roles include male deities, demons, monkeys, and male or female performers in the traditional Thai drama style. Applicants must be in good health and ready to commit to rehearsals and performances as required by the Foundation.

Auditions will be held at the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute in Nakhon Pathom province on June 28 and 29, with shortlisted candidates announced on June 20 and final selections on July 14. The project offers young performers a rare chance to develop their skills while helping preserve and promote Khon, Thailand’s royal masked dance drama. The program supports the vision of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother to safeguard this cultural heritage for future generations.
