
BANGKOK, Thailand – At Government House, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra formally welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his official visit to Thailand as a guest of the Thai government. The visit included an honor guard inspection on the front lawn of the Thai Khu Fah Building, where PM Modi also signed the guest book and viewed commemorative gifts in the Ivory Room.
The two leaders later held bilateral talks and witnessed the signing of agreements between Thailand and India. A significant moment of the visit was the presentation of the International Tripitaka (Sajjhāya Edition), emphasizing the deep cultural and religious ties between the two nations. The visit concluded with a joint press conference at Santimaitri Building.
This visit marks a significant opportunity for both nations’ leaders to engage in discussions aimed at boosting trade, investment, and enhancing bilateral cooperation across all sectors. The meeting will help advance a robust strategic partnership, elevate the tourism industry, and expand collaboration in education and the promotion of Indian agricultural products.
Additionally, the Indian Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, hosted by Thailand. The summit will shape the future direction of cooperation among Bay of Bengal nations, with a shared vision of transforming BIMSTEC into a region that is prosperous, sustainable, resilient, and open.
