Deputy governor meets the press
Media clamors for answers to longstanding issues
The
local media last week grilled Deputy Governor Phisit Boonchuang and city
administrators on social and legal issues. The deputy governor was standing in
for Governor Pisit Ketphasook during a three-hour meeting at city hall.
First on the agenda was the progress regarding Baan
Sukhawdee’s encroachment on public land. Coconut palms that were planted and
paid for by the city have been removed from the venue, and the media called for
an update on what action has been taken.

Mercedes Benz Opens iD1 center in Pattaya

Pisit Khetphasook, governor of Chonburi province presided
over the grand opening of the newest addition to the up market car dealers
in Pattaya, the Mercedes Benz iD1 showroom and service center. Also
attending the celebrations were Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn and
Karl-Heinz Heckhausen, president of Daimler Chrysler Thailand.

Somsak’s Famous Restaurant hosts Rotary fellowship

It seems that “fellowships” were all the rage in
Pattaya last week and the second floor of Somsak’s superb hostelry was
the ideal setting for a recent Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya fellowship
evening. With the Thai decor, terracotta tiling and open on all sides to
the splendid flora outside, one has the feeling of open air dining at

Seaboard FC takes one
from the Bangkok Brits
Pattaya’s newest football club Seaboard FC played and
won their maiden game against Bangkok’s British Club on the Naklua pitch
last Saturday afternoon. The home side scored the game’s only goal in the
final three minutes of the second half to win 1 - nil in the pre-season
friendly.
