Chaine de Rotisseurs committee meets to plan the future

Committee members of the Chaine de Rotisseurs Pattaya chapter, a club for lovers of good food and wine, last week met for the regular committee meeting at Casa Pascal.

Committee members of the Chaine de Rotisseurs Pattaya chapter met at Casa Pascal to discuss future events.

On the agenda for the day was their upcoming event planned for the 29th June at the Empress Restaurant at the Dusit Resort. This will be a fusion of both European and Chinese cuisine with a menu consisting of 8 courses, followed by traditional job-job pancakes and coffee. Accompanying this feast will be an Omaka Springs 2000 Reserve Chardonnay from New Zealand, a 1997 Nuits-Saints-Georges, and with the dessert a 1994 Muscat de Beaume-de-Venise. Members and guests are welcome and should book early to ensure seating.

Also discussed was the schedule for the rest of the year. This will include dinners at Bruno’s Restaurant in August, Woodlands Resort in October and the gala dinner at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort in December where new members will be inducted into the society.

A fellowship evening for members and guests is also in the planning stage early in the new year at the newly opened “Raj” Indian Restaurant where it is hoped that members can learn more about the art of Indian Cuisine. More details of the Chaine de Rotisseurs can be obtained from Louis Noll, Chancelier President, Bailliage de Pattaya, e-mail [email protected] or call 0 3842 0939.

PSC goes to school

As part of PSC’s Charity Program throughout the year a lot of focus is on the future, so where better to go than the schools to lend support.

On behalf of the Pattaya Sports Club, PSC Charity Chairman Bernie Tuppin (kneeling) delivered 40 mattresses and bibs for the children at Wat Sawang A Rom School.

Wat Sawang A Rom School is located in a small settlement about 20 clicks from downtown Pattaya and has 107 students up to 12 years of age. A classroom was recently refurbished to take care of some 40 toddlers aged 3-5 years.

Pattaya Sport Club responded to Headmaster Somchoke’s request for help by donating the 40 mattresses and bibs required for these children. A small gesture in financial terms but greatly appreciated by the children and staff of this school. All part of PSC’s policy of keeping an eye on the little things as well as the larger needs in our community.
