Rotary brings sight and joy to the disadvantaged

A big part of the Rotary Fair was the benevolent work donated by local medical people in giving eye exams and health checkups.

Many of the area’s youths and elderly were treated to free medical check ups, dental checks, eye exams and free eye glasses courtesy of the Rotary District 3340’s Rotary Fair in Pattaya last week. “I can see again!” was a common refrain at the eye glass booths set up in the fairgrounds at the Amari Orchid Resort.

A small army of benevolent Rotarians from the 57 Rotary Clubs that make up District 3340 converged on Pattaya for the District Fair. Rotary Week began last Friday afternoon with fanfare and a parade of floats accompanied by the school band from the Wat Potisamphan Phitayakarn School winding their way down to the fairgrounds at the Amari Orchid Resort next to the Henry J. Beans beer garden on Pattaya Beach Road.
