Obituary

Anthony Rees Thorley

Tony Thorley, a resident of Pattaya for over 15 years, died on the 1st of December at the age of 67 while receiving treatment in hospital in China.

1942 - 2009

Tony was born in Wales in 1942, in Mountain Ash, in the county of Glamorgan. While some may know him as the owner of residential nursing homes in the UK, he was also a highly skilled engineer, having been trained by Rolls Royce. Within RR he became a supervisory engineer on the Concorde engine project, before putting his skills to further good use in the off-shore oil/gas industry.
Tony will be well known to many in Pattaya and Jomtien through his business activities and his enjoyment of the local social scene.
In addition to his widow Pakamon (Gay) and his two sons Jonathon and Anthony here in Thailand, Tony leaves a son, Jason, and daughter, Samantha, in the UK.
Tony asked to be buried in the cemetery of St. Nikolaus church, the same church where he had married Gay in August of this year. This wish was granted and he was laid to rest on Thursday 10th of December following services attended by members of his family and many of his friends and colleagues.
