I-TIM, the International Hotel and Tourism Industry Management School, is now accepting applications for the two-year diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management commencing in January 2006. The Rotary Club Pattaya Marina (the first French speaking Rotary Club in all Asia) changed the schedule and the venue of its meetings. The Pattaya City Expats Club is pleased to have as its guest speaker on Sunday October 23, at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant, the author and film maker Bjorn Turmann. Bjorn has chosen to present “From Microsoft executive to Bangkok-based novelist: Bjorn Turmann’s story”. Bjorn Turmann was born and raised in Vancouver and has made Southeast Asia his home for over twelve years. He is a former Microsoft employee turned writer, university lecturer, creative entrepreneur and independent filmmaker who has had his works screened at festivals in Australia and Thailand. Bjorn is a frequent guest speaker at international seminars and tradeshows. Good Daughter is his first novel and he is currently working on his second book to be released in late 2006. Bjorn has made four short films in Thailand including a documentary titled Benevolent Bodysnatchers about the famed rescue group, Poh Teck Tung that screened at the Bangkok Film Festival in 2002. On November 11, the Australian Chamber of Commerce will participate in the Remembrance Day commemoration services at Hellfire Pass. The Chamber will also provide English tuition to Ban Ngiew School and present the school with some equipment.
