Students from Redemptorist Vocational College for the Disabled assist local government officers with registration for the poor

Suchada Tupchai

The central government’s policy on aiding the country’s poorer element has reached far and wide but there is a vital sector of society that appears to have been forgotten in the normal processes - those who are physically challenged.

Suporntham Mongkolsawat, principal of the Redemptorist Vocational College for the Disabled talks about the importance of benefits equally available to those in need as well as the special needs for the disabled community.

Ensuring that this important part of society is not left by the wayside, the Banglamung District Office opened their doors, and with the aid of students from the Redemptorist Vocational College for the Disabled provided a specific opportunity for the disabled and underprivileged members of society.

Suporntham Mongkolsawat, principal of the college and Father Bunjong Chaiyra and other guests provided moral and physical support for those registering for government aid.

Father Philip Bunjong Chayra, Redemptorist Center director presents Surapol Tiensuwan, Banglamung district chief, a token of thanks on behalf of the center and the community.

Suporntham Mongkolsawat said, “Redemptorist Vocational College already supports the disabled community but in many cases these people are subject to higher costs than the average person and sometimes find it more difficult to find work despite their qualifications, hence the need for them to register for the government program.”

Ms. Grant named new principal at Garden International School

Helle Rantsén
Chairperson of the GSA

The February 2 was a very special day at GIS. After having acted as acting principal, Ms. Grant was asked to take over responsibility as principal. This news was received with great joy among the parents, teaching staff and children.

Congratulations to Ms. Ruth Grant (right), the new principal at Garden International School.

Ms. Grant has with her a very warm and caring personality. She has been a key person at GIS for 7 years. During her seven years as head of primary and being a person with a talent for organizing, she has created quite a few family events at GIS, such as potluck suppers for all kinds of occasions, bingo and games nights, bonfire night, you name it.

Together with an extraordinary teaching staff, Ms. Grant is the reason why parents and children feel at “home” and welcomed at all times at GIS.

Congratulations to Ms. Grant.
