First round of 9th annual youth trivia quiz kicks off at Chaimongkol Temple School

Whiz kids around the province from primary and secondary schools attended the first round of ninth annual trivia quiz at the Chaimongkol Temple School last weekend. Hosting the quiz for students were Lions Clubs members from district 310C.

Hundreds of smart kids await in eager anticipation for the event to begin.

Numerous questions on Thai language, culture and history were given as part of the quiz with just 10 teams making it to the final round of competition to be held on December 20 at the Dusit Throne Hall in Bangkok to compete at the national level.

Past District Governor of District 3106 Lion Naris Pecharat encourages the whiz kids to do their best.

The quiz aims to teach and encourage students to study hard and indulge in good reading habits to brighten their future. The winning teams in the national competition will compete for HRH Princess Sirindhorn trophy where there will be school children from around the nation taking part in the event.

Last weekend 91 teams from 65 schools throughout Chonburi Province racked their brains to find answer to some very difficult questions.

Over 50 teachers and members of the local community attended an educational seminar on AIDS prevention and sex education providing statistical and clinical data on the subject at the function room of the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

Over 50 teachers and members of the local community attended an AIDS prevention and sex education seminar at the function room of the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

Doctors and Lions Club members relayed the valuable information so as those attending received the latest updates to relay to students and members of the community and spread the word of prevention and safe sex.

During the morning seminar teachers from schools in Pattaya and surrounding districts exchanged opinions and experiences as well as received new information in order to spread the word to their communities.


PSC hands out sports equipment to Banglamung schools

The Pattaya Sports Club (PSC) recently handed out over 60,000 baht in sports equipment to three Banglamung schools: the Wat Arom School, Ban Ronghip School and the Ban Santikham School.

The Pattaya Sports Club (PSC), represented by PSC charity chairman, Bernie Tuppin, recently handed out over 60,000 baht in sports equipment to three Banglamung schools.

PSC charity chairman, Bernie Tuppin proudly presented the donation of equipment to the educational institutions and the PSC office located off Pattaya Third Road, which was graciously received by Mayuree Yanpayom from the Region 3 Chonburi Educational Office. Teachers from each of the schools were on hand to show their appreciation for the Pattaya Sports Club’s generosity.

“We are honored to receive such necessary equipment from the Pattaya Sports Club. This equipment will be put to very good use as the students are fond of sports and we will also use it in our sporting curriculum to further the physical well being of the children under our care,” added the teachers.

This presentation was just one of the many activities carried out by the PSC with the aim to nurture the nation’s future athletes and give children the opportunity to participate in sporting activities.
