The day’s outing also included entertainment activities and a lunch at the Hardtien Restaurant as well as a spot of fundraising for the Rotary Club’s charity projects. With the absence of President Murray Hertz, who was in the Philippines, and Vice President Peter Malhotra, who was on the speaking circuit, it was Bob Lee, fresh from the 2003 World Congress in Chennai, India who took charge of the formalities and proposed the traditional Skål toast for those in attendance.

With elections coming up in January, Bob was selected as a candidate for the presidency next year to coincide with the World Congress in South Africa, which he hopes to encourage as many Skålleagues as possible to attend in readiness for Pattaya’s turn in 2006.

Venues are already being discussed and the drive for membership is needed for members to help organize and ready the city for the world-wide event which will bring well over 1,000 tour and travel industry professionals and their families for the 67th Skål World Congress in Pattaya from October 15 to 20, 2006, currently being worked on by the national committee in Bangkok.
