Pattaya city celebrates Teachers’ Day with sports

Marvin has been feeling a bit cold lately so he began to think about what the coldest place on earth would be like. He looked in the library and he found out that the coldest place on earth is Antarctica with the coldest recorded temperature of -89.6 degrees. This is so cold that your teeth can shatter and if you tried to breath the air, your lungs would freeze right inside your body.

Antarctica is also the driest place on the earth, yet it holds 70% of the world’s fresh water. All of the water is frozen and if it were to melt, the world sea levels would rise by about 65m. This means that some places that have people living on them would be covered by a lot of water!

Banglamung citizens celebrate Teacher’s Day at Sukawdee Home

Over 2000 dignitaries and teachers celebrated National Teacher’s Day on January 16 at the Sukawadee Home, belonging to Dr. Panya Chotithewan, who was on hand to welcome the visitors. Somsak Yonokpan, chief of Banglamung presided over the ceremonies.

Banglamung teachers pay respects to all the teachers that came before them.

After a religious ceremony, Suranit Atrit, head of Banglamung Education Department delivered a message from HE Pongpol Adireksan, Minister of Education.

The message praised teachers on their importance and said they deserve the highest respect from the past up to present for dedicating their lives to not only transferring knowledge down to students, but also giving them guidance and moral support so that the country’s future generations can have healthy bodies and minds, and the know how to make sound judgments and stay abreast in the ever changing world.

The teaching profession is one of the biggest drives on national development, so all the teachers should be proud of their duties.

The government also supports and assists teachers with higher social benefits to encourage them and to raise the profession up to international level.

The “kurusapah” also held an activity to commemorate King Rama 5 on the occasion that UNESCO has chosen the late King as one of the most praised people in the world, and the present King HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej as the National Teacher, as well as HRH Princess Sirindhorn as the National Teacher’s role model.

UNESCO also voted past Minister of Education, MOM Luang Pin Malakul, as one of the most important persons in the world.

After the message was delivered, all the teachers joining the occasion stood in silence to pay respect for all the teachers who have passed away, after which performances were given by the teachers and students of Banglamung.

The day ended with a nice lunch for all and a tour of the grand Sukawadee Home.


Pattaya city celebrates Teachers’ Day with sports

Many people from Pattaya City gathered at Pattaya School Number 7 for a special “sports day” to celebrate the annual national Teachers’ Day. Ten of Pattaya’s schools took part in the event, and the ubiquitous Mayor Pairat Suttithamrongsawat presided over the opening ceremonies.

January 16 marks Thailand’s national Teachers’ Day and is celebrated throughout the country to pay respect to teachers. Teachers are highly respected for sharing knowledge and guidance in order to build a better society, and for their ability to help others develop the country.

This year of Teachers’ Day, the city fathers organized sports activities to enhance unity among different sectors and to enable the teachers to set good examples for the parents and their children on the importance of sports.

More than 300 people involved in education participated in the sports, which consisted of football, running races, Thai lawn bowling and a tug of war.
