Clubs

The Rayong Ladies Circle’s planned Chantaburi trip to the sapphire mines has been rescheduled for Monday March 25th. For information contact Khun Tiew at 01 644 4432. On Tuesday March 12th they will have their monthly coffee morning with a combined brunch. Everyone is requested to bring some sweets to go with the coffee. The Expats Club of Pattaya invites all expats and visitors to join them every Sunday at 10 a.m. for a regular breakfast meeting at Shenanigans on Second Road Pattaya. Expats helping expats with free advice to make your stay here more enjoyable – one year visas, work permits, home purchase, medical insurance, legal advice and much more. Meet new friends. The German Thai Chamber of Commerce will hold their next ‘Stammtisch’ on Friday, March 8, at Henry J Beans Bar & Grill. All are welcome, and one does not have to be a member to join this informal networking event. Bring your spouse along and enjoy a relaxed evening from 6.00 p.m. onwards.

The Australian Thai Chamber of Commerce will hold another Seaboard Sundowners sponsored by Technology Training Co., Ltd./Swinburne Tummasiri - LCSE, on Friday, 15th March, 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at the Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa. The Seaboard Sundowners is an opportunity for members and guests of AustCham Thailand to meet, network and exchange views in the social, casual environment. There is also a Volunteer English Teaching Program at Ban Khao Huai Mahad School, Ban Chang, Rayong on Saturday March 16. The Chamber will provide transport to and from the school. Renoir’s Restaurant in the Flamingo Hotel, Soi Day Night 2, will have a very special “One-Man-Show” & Dinner on the 23rd & 24th March. There are two separate evenings: on Saturday (23.03.02) it will be for an English-speaking audience, and on Sunday (24.03.02) it will be performed in Dutch (NL). Apart from a very special, 4-course, gourmet style dinner, there will be a show during the dinner titled “Letter from Vincent”, where Vincent van Gogh, in his own words, talks about his brother Theo, the women he loved and his mental illness. He speaks of his drawings and paintings and above all, his search for happiness. Slides of his drawings and paintings are projected; the play is further enhanced with music from Wagner, Beethoven, Berlioz and Grieg. This show has attracted great appreciation around the world and is now, for a very limited time, in Pattaya.

The Inaugural International Thailand Temple Marathon takes place on March 24 in Samut Songkram, incorporating a traditional Thai Opening Ceremony and pre and post events for both local and international competitors. For local Thai winners of the full 42-k marathon, prize money is being offered. Entry for the full marathon is Bht500, available through SportVision. There is also a 21k half-marathon (400 baht) and a 10k race (200 baht) starting at 5.30 a.m. and 6 a.m. respectively. The winners must be Thai nationals or Thai residents to be eligible for the prize money. Prize money is being sponsored by OFS, a financial services company for expatriates in Asia.
