St Andrews Walk for Wildlife

ISR Student Guild

Singing contest winners receive prizes

St Andrews Walk for Wildlife

The call is out at St Andrews International School for children, teachers, mums and dads to join the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in its efforts to help save the giant panda.

Our school has organised a sponsored walk around the grounds of the Green Valley Estate with 3 circuits stretching from 1km to 6km in length. Our youngest students will take part in a ‘Panda Parade’ and a ‘Spot the Panda’ competition. Whilst our older students will walk the 6km circuit.

The aim of the walk is for students to raise as much sponsorship money as they possibly can to support the WWF’s campaign to prevent the extinction of the giant panda. The giant panda has become highly endangered, threatened by illegal logging and poachers in its Chinese habitat.

Our walk takes place on the morning of Friday 22nd February. Please support our efforts by helping the children raise sponsorship money. If you would like to support our walk by sending a donation please contact the school for details on 038 893 716-8.

ISR Student Guild

ISR students had time to explore the ruins at Phi Mai near Khorat, after a visit to their adopted school at Bansubcharoen.

Bansubcharoen School and Phimai were on the itinerary for a group of ISR students from Years 5 & 6. The trip was spearheaded by the Student Guild, which regularly organizes bake sales and other fundraising activities to provide support for Bansubcharoen. This time the bus was loaded with much needed stationery supplies and sports equipment and the group spent 2 days visiting the school and helping out in class. On the return journey a stop was made at Phimai to explore the wonderful ruins.
