Teddy Bears invited to GIS for the day!

Children from Reception class at Garden International School excitedly brought along their favourite teddy bears last Friday to join in all class activities.

Toy tents for the teddy bears

The children have been learning about the ‘t’ sound and have been singing songs about teddy bears all week. The learning culminated in a ‘Teddy Bear Day.’ Snowy, Cuddly, and Winnie were just some of the teddies who made the trek from their comfortable homes to the Reception classroom in Rayong.

The teddy bears enjoyed being at school, playing in the big Primary playground and visiting the older children in the school, but thought that the tricycles, slippery slide and sandpit at the Foundation Centre were the “best toys” at the school.

Sumptuous food at the teddy bears’ picnic

After so much activity, the teddy bears were extremely hungry. Luckily, Reception had planned for a scrumptious teddy bear’s picnic, complete with toy tents for the teddies and their owners to play in. Teddy Bear races completed the day’s activities.

It is on good authority that the teddy bears thoroughly enjoyed their day at GIS and look forward to yet another outing at the school in the near future.

International School of the Regents helps with Banglamung beach clean up

ISR students once again participated in the ‘Clean up the world’ campaign with a specially organised clean up in Banglamung.

With their ‘Clean up the world’ rubbish bags and brooms at the ready, ISR students prepared to start the clean up in Banglamung.

Spearheaded by the Student Guild, the clean up began in a quiet residential area of Banglamung, and finished at the beach. Around 100 students and staff took part, supported by officers from the Banglamung municipality. Dozens of bags of rubbish were collected during the morning’s work.

The students were delighted to continue working with the local municipality to promote the environmental awareness themes of the clean up the world campaign. The worldwide campaign involves millions of people in over 120 countries striving to make a difference to their local environments.

Beginning of the new school year “a la petite ecole”

Some French-speaking parents from the Eastern Seaboard have formed a small school for teaching French to some 15 children, which enables them to follow the French curriculum here in Pattaya. Last Monday was the first day of the new school year in newly renovated classrooms. Now the ‘school’ has two main sections, including one for children who will learn the French language after 3 p.m. when they finish regular classes at local Thai schools.
