A question of peace and quiet

A question of peace and quiet

Editor;

Greetings from Canada where the temperature has just dropped to about 1 degree.

I have a bachelor condo not far from a school on the west side of Pattaya 3rd Road, near Central Pattaya Road, where they play football frequently on Saturdays and Sundays and from time to time on weekday evenings. The loudspeaker system is usually turned up to a very high decibel level. It seems that recently complaints were made and the system was turned down to an acceptable level; but apparently only until the representative of the enforcing authority had departed, when it was again cranked right up to the top.

I am told that those responsible for the noise don’t give a hoot because the complainers are mostly foreigners who ought to be reminded that they are just guests in the country.

I wonder if this situation is the prevailing attitude towards foreigners in Pattaya town.

Comments would be appreciated.

Rob Morrison
