Sunday, March 7th will be another big the day in the life of the inhabitants of the Banglamung Home for the Aged. Die Zugvögel, Seaboard Sound & Friends and Khun Kampon Tansacha, Managing Director of Nong Nooch Village are organizing a day-out for the residents. At 8:15 a.m., app. 100 old people, including a few of the staff, will be picked up in 2 busses for a visit to the beautiful Nong Nooch gardens. The trip will include exciting shows and lunch, all free of charge, thanks to Khun Kampon.

The Pattaya Professional Women’s Forum will be holding their next meeting on Friday, March 12th, at the Mercure Hotel’s "Funtasea Fun Pub". A special dance performance by Nicky & Team of Pattaya’s dancing school at the Sunbeam Hotel is on the program, also featuring Christina Betourne. All members, friends and spouses should wear their dancing shoes, for after the show, Nicky will dance with each of them. The party afterwards will be at lot of fun, fun, fun at the Funtasea Fun Pub. By the way, the Fun Pub has a fabulous new trio from the Philippines, the Bits ‘N Pieces, performing every night.

There’s a rumble in the jungle with Tarzan and Jane on Tuesday, March 12th from 19:00 hours onwards at the tropical jungle - oops gardens of the Amari Orchid Resort. Perhaps Mowgli and his swinging friends, Balou the Bear and the Monkey King will be there too, to join this special Jungle Jam. Pat’s Pie’s & Deli has opened a Supper Room, only 2 doors away from their old place (which is still open of course). The operating hours for this cozy place with the most delicious English food are: Wednesday to Monday from 16:00 hours until 21:30 hours (remember, Tuesday is their day off). Lewiinski’s Bar & Restaurant (opened by Steve, not Monica...), located on Pattayaland Soi 1 now has Happy Hours every day from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Carlsberg draft for only 45 Baht and free hors d’oeuvres. Call 429 444 or 427 822 and ask for Monica - oops - Stephen!

Another new outlet at the Mercure Pattaya Resort, the Beach BBQ and Beer Garden was opened recently. Situated right on the beach, a selection of fresh meat and seafood skewer will be served, besides "Make your own salad" and fruit kebabs. Operating hours are daily from 18:00 to 22:00 hours. Health

A pregnancy exercise class is being offered at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The class can be joined at any time during pregnancy. Anne Barthelemy, a Belgian trained physical therapist with U.S. experience, including 5 years of teaching prenatal and postnatal exercise, is the instructor. The program includes pregnancy exercises based on yoga, stretches, breathing, strengthening routines, and some childbirth education (breathing through labor, pushing simulation and relaxation). Physician permission is required - a form can be picked up at the international department at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

A childbirth education class is also being offered at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital every third Saturday of the month, starting March 20th, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This program will benefit mothers in their third trimester of pregnancy, as well as their labor partners. The format of the class will be presented, in English, in 2 phases during consecutive months. Classes will be conducted by Anne Barthelemy. The first month’s class will cover topics related to labor and delivery, breathing for labor, comfort measures and relaxation techniques. The second month will address issues related to breast feeding, early infant care and feeding and will offer a tour of the labor/delivery facility.
