Expat dies at Bridge Club
Stefan Zebco, R.I.P.
Stefan Zebco, 73, a founding member of Pattaya Bridge Club, died after a
heart attack on December 23. He collapsed just before the start of the
club’s weekly sessions at the Cafe Royale. The after-noon game was canceled
out of respect.
As a young man, Stefan witnessed the horrors of the Nazi occupation of
Poland before settling in England in the 1950s. He retired to Thailand about
ten years ago.
His friend Barrie Kenyon, the bridge club secretary, said bridge was
Stefan’s life. “He was always ready to play day or night and invariably put
up a strong performance at the bridge table.”
“It is fitting that he died about to play the game he had treasured for
fifty years.”
Bridge Club members were invited to make a donation to the cremation which
will probably be held in Bangkok. Next of kin have been informed.
