BANGKOK– Illegal foreign workers can apply for work documents at IT Square and other migrant labor service centers nationwide from now until August 7th, 2017.
The Ministry of Labor has opened an alien worker service center at IT Square on Chaengwattana Road in Bangkok where illegal migrant workers can apply for a work permit. Since its opening, at least 8,000 workers have requested work documents. Application forms can be downloaded at www.doe.go.th.
The entire process can be completed online without having to come to one of these centers, according to the ministry.
Those who already have a legal work document but wish to have certain information corrected can also do so at these centers.
From August 8th to September 9th, employers will have to prove to the officials that the applicants are actually employed by them after which the workers will be granted work documents. The workers will then contact their home country to have their nationality confirmed before a work visa is issued to them.
