The local branch of the YWCA, in co-operation with Pattaya City Hall held a press conference on June 12 to announce a special beach walk-run along Pattaya beach to help raise funds for local children’s and women’s charities.
The race will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, in front of Central Pattaya Beach shopping mall, passing the Amari Pattaya Hotel before returning to the start/finish point at the mall. City Hall has asked for the co-operation of beach chair vendors in the area to ensure that the beach area involved is cleared prior to the race taking place.
Officials from the YWCA Association, Pattaya City Hall, Central Pattaya Beach and the Pattaya Walk-Run Club pose at the June 12 press conference to announce the walk-run event.
At 7.00 p.m. all the athletes will gather for the trophy presentation where the HRH Princess Soamsavali Cup will be awarded to the winner, following which there will be fun activities for children and women sponsored by the YWCA Club, including a mini concert of singers from The Star.
All money raised from this event will be used to support activities and projects that help disadvantaged children and women, such as the Loving and Supportive Family Project that provides scholarships to underprivileged students and assists children with special-needs.
Anyone interested in participating in the race can buy tickets from the YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya centre office in Soi Town in Town, Pattaya Klang Road or call 038-716316 or 081-8689366 for more information.
