Monday, March 18, Pleasant Valley – Stableford

Our first visit here for some considerable time and everyone was looking forward to the game today. It was an enjoyable round with the course in a good condition but our only moan was the first three holes had the tees too far forward.

Two divisions out with the cut at 9-18 and 20+ and with 42 points Paul Young won division 1 while a 20/19 countback saw Bob Comartin take second ahead of Per Forsberg after they both came in with 40 points.

Leo Adam topped the podium in division 2 with 37 points, Kari Aarnio was second on 36 and Peter Davies placed third with 30 points.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Bob Comartin, Per Forsberg and Gareth Piccininn, and (Div 2) Kari Aarnio, John Carlin, Peter Davies and Paul Young.

Two rollovers in both divisions and Bob Comartin birdied the 13th and in division 2 Paul Young the 5th.

Wednesday, March 20, Treasure Hill – Stableford

A smaller turnout and only one division today and with 37 points Paul Butler beat John Carlin with an 18/17 countback for first place. Paul Young with a 14/13 back six countback edged Per Forsberg for third after they both scored 35 points and Paul Sturgeon finished fifth with 34.

Only three wins in eight nearest the pins for Bob Comartin and Gareth Piccinin in division 1 and John Carlin in division 2.

In the 2s today Nik Evans birdied the 6th and Gareth Piccininn the 17th and in division 2 a rollover to Khao Kheow on Monday.

Friday, March 22, Eastern Star – Stableford

We were back today to two divisions with the equal cut set at 9-16.8 and 17.0 + in division 2 and with 36 points Dicky Bates won division 2 ahead of Tony Thorne in second on 34 and John Carlin third with 31. There were then three 29-pointers fighting for fourth place and a 19/18/14 back nine countbacksaw Paul Butler take it over Glyn Evans and Ron Lavett.

The Khao Yai boy Tim Hake beat Per Forsberg on an 18/17 back nine countback after two 33’s were returned in division 1 and then Bon Comartin with an 11/9 back six countback finished third, beating Gareth Piccininn after two 31-pointers.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Bob Comartin and Gareth Piccininn (3), and (Div 2) John Carlin, Frank Kelly and Max Wilson.

Gareth Piccininn birdied the 17th in division 1 and in division 2 there are three rollovers to next Friday.
