Jomtien Golf with the IPGC

Monday, Feb. 2, Plutaluang – Stableford

As we alternate here on every visit we were playing the East and South courses today with three divisions out and the almost equal cut at 8-14, 15-19 and 20+ in division 3.

Chris Voller, not protecting his handicap before the IPGC Club Championship later in the week, returned the best score of the day to win division 1 with 39 points.  Pete Sumner came in second on 35 and Dennis Scougall took third with 31.

(L to R) Lindsay Phillips, Rodney Howett and Dennis Scougall.(L to R) Lindsay Phillips, Rodney Howett and Dennis Scougall.

On a week’s break from Khao Yai, Tim Hake topped division 2 with 35 points while the Irish boy Jerry McCarthy claimed second on 32 and Lindsay Phillips was third a further point behind.

Rod Howett returned after a short break to recover from a bad back and won division 3 with 33 points while Cliff Elliott finished second after beating Miss Nut on a 16/10 back-nine count back, both tied on 32 points each (there were tears in her eyes).

Tim Hake birdied E5 and Don Head S5 to split the ‘2’s pot in division 2 and Miss Nut’s tears disappeared.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Teddy Bourne, Ted Lodge and Jerry McCarthy, and (Div 2) Mike Fitzgerald, Don Head, Rod Howett and Rudiger Schaefer.
