Wednesday 13th November The Emerald Stableford

On Wednesday, there was a totally deserted car park and club house which was unusual for this time of the year. We teed off with six groups 20 minutes ahead of our schedule with an 11 – 19 cut in the two divisions.

Tom Novak recorded the best score of the day winning division 2 with 40 points. Dave Howden, with 36 and his highest score ever with us, was second, Curtiss Hessler third on 34 and Rick Assi came in fourth on 33.

Pete Skinner was second, beating Per Forsberg on a 20/15 back nine countback after two scores of 33 came in. With a 10/8 back six countback, Bob Poole took fourth place beating John Hughes after they both scored 32 points.

Near pins: Div. 1 Bob Comartin, Per Forsberg and Dennis Scougall. Div. 2 Alan Bissell (2) and Frank Grainger.

Friday 15th November Eastern Star Stableford

An equal cut in the five groups on Friday at 9 – 16 and 18+.

Three scores of 35 were tallied in division 1, and an 18/16/15 back nine countback made Pete Sumner the winner. In second place was Colin Aspinall and Ron Lavett was third. John Hughes finished fourth beating Per Forsberg on a 16/15 countback after they both shot 30 points.

The greens were the slickest we have ever experienced for a long time and this was reflected in the scores.

John Hughes with three rollovers birdied the signature 13th and in division 2 three rollovers here next Friday.
