This was the first regatta event that YRAT, led by Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich, hosted in honour of the great royal sailors.  The late monarch, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his eldest daughter HRH Princess Ubolratana jointly won a sailing title at the 4th South East Asian Peninsular (SEAP) Games in 1967.  That day, December 16, has forever since been enshrined as Thailand’s National Sports Day.
