Tuesday, August 22, Khao Kheow – Jaa Memorial Cup

Today the Tara Court Golf Society helped organized the 5th annual Jaa Memorial Cup here at Khao Kheow Country Club.  This is held in memory of the late Jaa who was a very well liked and respected caddy here and who unfortunately died at the very young age of 26 years from a mosquito bite from which she contracted dengue fever.

This is a very special competition which is confined to the caddies only, most of whom would have been very good friends of Jaa and all of whom very much want to get their names on the much coveted trophy.  The competition is co-organised and run mainly by the management and staff here and we want to thank them very much for all the work and effort they put in to it.

The Cup is awarded to the best gross score and once again for the fifth year we got a new winner.  This year Suanna Kerdjaroen, who was playing off a nine handicap, had a gross 81 and came out the winner.  In second place was Sompis Sam-ang-in, handicap 11 and gross 82 while the third place went to Ms Prakaydao, handicap 12 and gross 84.  These were all excellent scores on what as everyone knows is a very difficult course.

We had two long drives, which were actually very long drives and they were won by Panita Srisuk and Ms Puschanattha and the near pins were won by Panita Srisuk, Rungnapa Puengseeklao, Tippawan Kanpakdee and Aumpa Seehla.
