PSC Golf from the Phantom Golf Society

Wednesday, May 11, Burapha A & B – Stableford

We had 20 golfers signed up for the day’s competition at Burapha and on a hot & sunny day we arrived at the golf course in plenty of time for our scheduled 10.00am start.  Our first group got away pretty much on time and were able to maintain a fairly steady pace on a course that was in good condition other than the greens having been cored recently and many of the bunkers were quite frankly in poor shape.  Nonetheless, the day produced some good scores, particularly in the top flight and most golfers were able to complete their rounds in just over four hours.

We had just the two nearest the pins on the par threes and  longest first putts on B7 & B9 with 2 flights having three places in each.

Ray Fowliss & Steve Truelove.

Big Steve Truelove was having an exceptional round, being one under the card with one hole to go, but a triple bogey on the last resulted in a score of 41 points which was easily good enough to win the A Flight.  In second spot was Christian “Psycho” Boysen who returned to form with 38 points and with 2 golfers on 37 points the resultant count back saw Colin “Donkey” Davis (19 points on the last nine) take third spot from Alistair Gall (18 points on the last nine).

In the B Flight it was veteran Ray Fowliss who took first place with 35 points, one point ahead of Peter Moon in second while Torben Lindgaard was third with 33.

A Flight

1st Steve Truelove (7) 41pts

2nd Christian Boysen (10) 38pts

3rd Colin Davies (19) 37pts

B Flight

1st Ray Fowliss (34) 35pts

2nd Peter Moon (22) 34pts

3rd Torben Lindgaard (28) 33pts
