Wednesday, August 19, Plutaluang – 1-2-3 Team Stableford

Today we held an individual stableford competition for two divisions plus a team 1-2-3 , where on the first six holes the best score is entered on the team card, the next six holes the two best scores are added together and the last six holes all three scores are added for a final team score.

We were playing the North and West courses today and it was a tough test of golf with very bare and hard fairways and some slick greens, and this was reflected in the majority of scores.  Playing off his 13 handicap, Arthur Hancock recorded the best score to win division 1 with 38 points while Mikael Andersson trailed in second on 33 and Dave Horne was third with 31.

Harry Vincenzi was the winner in division 2 with 34 points, Curtis Hessler was second on 29 and Iain Walsh took third after beating Jim Connelly 16/15 on the back nine after they both came in with 28 points in total.

In the team game, Mikael Andersson, Arthur Hancok and Iain Walsh topped the podium with 78 points while in second place came Jim Connelly, Dave Horne and Harry Vincenzi on 71 and in third with 61 points was the trio of Paul Butler, Curtis Hessler and Wilf Latham.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Mikael Andersson (2), Arthur Hancock and Jerry Sweetnam, and (Div 2) Tom Murphy.

Mikael Andersson birdied W8 for the sole ‘2’ of the day.

It was a great day out and we celebrated Jim Conelly’s birthday bash back at Siam Cats with a pig roast and a great evening was had by all.
