Shameless plug: The April Schedule is up and a couple of interesting things to point out.  On Wednesday the 2nd, we are playing Laem Chabang with a 3:30 tee time!  Yes, the back 9 will be under the lights so it should be a nice cool round of golf and at 1,950 baht, you won’t get this great Jack Nicklaus track any cheaper.  Also, the Songkran trip to Khao Yai is from the 15th-20th so get yer skates on and sign up quick.

How does he do it?  2 weeks ago he placed third, last week he placed second, and this week he wins it with 39 points!  It was a triumphant climb for Geoff Doody as for the last three weeks he has just kept on getting better and better.  Gary Blackburn (who won at St. Andrews last week) was also good for an impressive 39 to share the win with Geoff, and Gary has also been playing some great golf lately.

Roger Newman strolled along to a 36 for sole third place today, making it look easy, as Mark Venning and Paul “Take it Easy” Greenaway shared 4th position.

The course played beautifully once again, so it’s no wonder we get a full sign-up sheet every Monday for Green Valley.  The weather today was getting hot in the afternoon, so our amazing winter of cool golf days is now officially over!  Oh well, it was great while it lasted.

Wednesday, March 19, Khao Kheow (white tees) – Stableford

1st Alan Rothwell (7) 39pts

T2nd Peter Larsson (13) 38pts

T2nd Phil Williams (11) 38pts

It just doesn’t get any better than Khao Kheow these days as the course was turned out in pristine condition for today’s comp.

Finally, Alan Rothwell gets it all together!  Alan is one of our better golfers and plays a very consistent game.  He didn’t quite find his form last week at Soi Dao but this week it all came together for him.  It ain’t easy shooting a 39 off a stingy 7 handicap so he had to earn his points on this difficult course.  Well played buddy, bridesmaid no more!

Peter and Phil were both hot on his heels and just a stroke back on 38 to tie for second, which is a whole bunch of great scores on today’s podium.

Friday, March 21, Burapha C & D – 18th PSC Charity Classic

Just a quick note of congratulations to our regulars Steve Mulberry and Nigel Flanagan for getting 3rd place at the PSC Charity Classic on Friday.  That is a great result when you have 160 golfers in the field!  Also, our gratitude goes to Joe Mooneyham, Khun Mai and the staff at the PSC for all the hard work for this event.  The Golf Club was proud to be a hole sponsor out there today, as we look forward to this event which gets better and better every year.
