Sunday, Sept. 10, Green Valley – Monthly Medal

We had a good turnout for September’s monthly medal, with 19 players taking on the Green Valley course in 2 divisions with 9 in each and the split coming at 17+.

Taking A Flight and monthly medal honours was Craig Robson (H/cap 11) with a net 69.  A distant second came Paul Pavloff (7) with net 75 and in third was Rod Torrie (11) on net 76.

There was a 3-way tie at the top of B Flight on net 77 that saw Russell Gilroy (17) edge out Ken Hole(19) and Donal McGuigan (19) in second and third respectively.  Rounding out the places in fourth was Peter Henshaw (23) with a net 78.

The ‘2’s pot was shared between 6 players today; Andy Featherstone, Paul Pavloff, Stuart Brown, Craig Robson, Russell Gilroy & JJ Harney.

Tuesday, Sept. 12, Eastern Star – Stableford

Eleven players showed up today for the challenge of Eastern Star.  This course is starting to get busy again but we were away right on our allocated tee time.

There was a battle between 2 players for the top honours and it came down to the last putt of the day to decide the winner.  Gus Guidetti (11) took the plaudits with a great 42 points, just beating the inform Craig Robson (11) with 41.

In third place was Russell Gilroy (17) 36 points fourth went to Mikael Andersson (14) with 32 points.

Thursday, Sept. 14, Burapha A & B  – Stableford

Andy Featherstone had been complaining that since he came back from his holiday his golf hadn’t been up to form, but today he made u for it as he shot three over par gross to post 39 points and come out a clear winner.

Gus Guidetti didnt quite keep up the standard he set on his first game on Tuesday but he still played to his handicap to come second with 36 while Ken Hole took third place with 34.  Joe McArdle occupied the fourth and last place on the podium with 32 points, keeping Joe Peters out of the prizes on count-back.

John Carlin had the only ‘2’ of the day.
