Pattaya based Danish driver Thomas Raldorf tamed the notoriously difficult street circuit to deliver a clean sweep throughout the weeklong Bang Saen Speed Festival, held from 4-9 July.

Raldorf, driving the UNIXX / TR-Motorsport Porsche 997, never looked back from his fastest time in free practice.  After qualifying in pole position with a gap of 1.374 to the second car on the grid, the Danish Dynamo sped away in race one and even when the inevitable safety car appeared and bunched the pack up, the chasing cars could do nothing to catch the Porsche.

Raldorf gave a masterclass in precision driving around the beach resort of Bang Saen, hitting every apex perfectly and following the optimum line with every lap.  The victory came at a canter and with it 20 vital points in the race for the drivers’ championship.  Team partner Pete then followed up with a second place to help the Porsche duo also claim the team trophy for race one.

A shortened race two was nearly a carbon copy of the first, with Raldorf roaring ahead and only being caught when the safety car was deployed once again.  After a few laps behind the safety car, the lights turned green and the Dane pulled away yet again.  With victory in sight, he eased back to protect the car with the issues of the races in Buriram still in his mind and crossed over the line to take another commanding victory.  Another race win means Raldorf is now only 2 points behind in the drivers’ championship and the team has a healthy lead in the team championship.

UNIXX – TR-Motorsport will next be in action at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram for Rounds 5 & 6 of the Thailand Super Series from August 17-20.  For more information on the team visit www.tr-motorsport.com and follow them on Facebook, search TR Motorsport Thailand.
