It was the wettest day of the year so far when the boys at the Father Ray Children’s Home welcomed the under-16 football team from Burapha Phatthanasert International School.

Younger teams from the Home and the School had met previously at a tournament where both teams, after losing several matches, were playing not to be named the worst performing team of the competition.

No sooner had the whistle been blown to start the match when the rain started to pour, and the downpour continued until well after the match was over.

There was a lot of talent on both sides, including one Burapha player who is a member of the Thailand national under-15 side.

After two halves the final score was 7-6 to the visitors, but with the promise of a return match the boys from the Children’s Home are hoping that the next game will go in their favour.
